A refined, terroir-driven white blend crafted by South Africa’s cult winemaker.
Duncan Savage is known for his profound, mineral-rich white wines with aging potential, sourced from dramatic and expressive sites across the Western Cape. After gaining recognition at Cape Point Vineyards, he launched Savage Wines in 2011 as a side project, which quickly earned international acclaim. Since 2016, it’s been his full-time pursuit. Today, he leases vineyards and purchases grapes from old-vine plots in unique locations across the Cape.
His winery, located in Salt River, Cape Town, reflects his urban-minimalist style – much like his wines.
The 2024 vintage is a sophisticated Cape white blend featuring Sauvignon blanc, Sémillon, sourced from high-altitude vineyards. Fermented naturally and matured in neutral oak barrels on fine lees, this wine is textural, vibrant, and precise.

Grapes are given a fair amount of sun exposure through the season to ensure ripe fruit is processed. Overnight cooling is followed by whole bunch pressing and oxidative handling. The juice is transferred to a selection of 500L barrels (20% new) and concrete eggs where spontaneous fermentation and aging takes place. Malolactic fermentation takes place in the Semillon and occasionally the Sauvignon blanc depending on the vintage. Wines are aged for 12 months in barrel and concrete eggs followed by a further 2-3 months in stainless steel, and finally bottling.
