Alheit Vineyards is a family-owned winery founded in 2010 by Chris and Suzaan Alheit.

After studying at Stellenbosch University and traveling around the world, they settled on the Hemelrand farm near Hermanus in South Africa. Their goal is to produce wines with a clear South African identity that celebrate and preserve the Cape's winemaking heritage. They specialize in old, dry-farmed bush vines and minimize intervention in the winemaking process to best express the character of the local terroirs.

What can you look forward to?

• Cartology 2023: The winery’s flagship wine, a blend of Chenin Blanc and Semillon from the oldest bush vines in the Cape. A wine full of minerality and elegance, reflecting the traditions of South African winemaking.

• Here after Here 2023: A fresh and approachable Chenin Blanc, ideal for immediate enjoyment. The wine boasts a harmonious balance of fruity notes and delicate minerality.

• Fire by Night 2023: Chenin Blanc from the Nuwedam vineyard in Paardeberg. A full-bodied, structured wine with deep complexity and a balanced acidity.

• Hemelrand Vine Garden 2023: A blend of white grape varieties (Roussanne, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Verdelho, and others) from the cool Hemel & Aarde Ridge area. This wine offers a rich and complex flavor profile with a long finish.

• Magnetic North 2023: A 100% Chenin Blanc from remote, old vineyards on Citrusdal Mountain. This wine stands out with its intense mineral structure and extended finish.
